Color Category: Soft

Have you ever had your hair color described as dishwater blonde or even mousy brown?  Is your skin tone light to medium in color?  You tan fairly easy and do not burn often. Is your eye color a medium intensity of either blue, brown, green or hazel?  If you can say yes to these questions, you more than likely fall into the Color Category of "Soft".

My daughter and I both fall into this category.  So does Taylor Swift.
If you fall into the Soft Category, your best neutrals are charcoal gray and medium brown. Soft ivory looks much better on you than white.  Colors that make your eyes pop include: mint green, coral/peach, a soft butter yellow, and teal blue.  I am sad to inform you that "Black" is NOT the best color for you up by your face.  It is definitely a color to stay away from.  Black (up by your face) tends to age you if you are in this color category.  If you have a lot of black in your current wardrobe, try to slowly replace it with navy, charcoal, or brown.  You can also soften black by wearing a beautiful scarf (that includes your best pop colors)  up by your face.

Be careful that your hairstylist does not try and convince you to continue to go blonder as you age. If you choose to not go gray, keep to within 2 shades different of your natural hair color.  Going too light or too dark fights against the Creators ultimate ideal coloring for you.

It is also a good idea to keep your makeup shades similar in tone--Medium.  Going to dark with eye shadow or with lip stick colors will look harsh against your skin. Medium shades of rose/pink and peach are wonderful blush colors.  Lipstick/gloss colors of peaches, pinks, and neutrals look best. (Check out Taylor's lipstick shade above.  It would look out of place for her to have a deep red lipstick shade.)

*Remember, God did not make a mistake when He created you.  You are beautiful!!!
